Under the direction of the Chief Engineer, the Sr. Project Engineer is responsible for providing engineering expertise to ensure mine expansion plans are carried forth in a safe and timely manner so that current mine production and long-term mine planning are not impaired. This position works closely with, and supports the mine planners, mine operations, exploration, environmental department, and interfaces with local and state agencies. This position will supervises the other Project Engineers and Hydrogeologists.

Requirements

  • Previous Related Work Experience Required
  • Minimum of 5 to 7 years of progressive "hands on" professional experience, preferably in the mining industry or construction industry
  • Ability to establish effective working relationships with RNMC management and contractors, and be a capable project and task manager
  • Possess strong written and verbal communication skills with technical writing experience
  • Willingness to travel including overnight as necessary
  • Understanding of Project Management and Cost Accounting
  • A BSc in engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Mining, or similar discipline), a BS in business administration (Project Management, Construction Management, or similar discipline), or equivalent professional experience


Responsibilities

  • Promote company’s safety and management philosophy
  • Develop and track project timeline to ensure compliance with the mine plan
  • Cost tracking and cost control. Including monthly accruals and forecasts for capital and operational spends
  • Managing multiple projects, contracts, and multiple contractors simultaneously
  • Responsible for the development of annual project budgets
  • Prepare “Request for Proposal” documents, evaluation of responses, selection of contractor, and contract agreement implementation
  • Provide weekly work and budgetary oversight of sub-consultants and contractors
  • Responsible for the effective management of own time and effort in accordance with project priorities and objectives
  • Convey results and findings by means of oral discussions and presentations
  • Ability to interpret specifications and drawings and direct workforce to insure quality control
